Teresa Chin

Teresa Chin is a perpetual graduate student at the University of California Berkeley, having spent 60% of the past decade as California Golden Bear. Teresa completed her latest degree, an MPH in Maternal and Child Health, in 2009. She will be returning to Berkeley in Fall 2010 to pursue a master’s degree in science and health journalism. In the past, Teresa has worked as a peer health advisor and program coordinator for UC Berkeley’s Health Worker Program, an environmental health researcher, an intern zookeeper at the Oakland Zoo, and a sexual health columnist for the Daily Californian. Her articles have been republished by various national magazines, including Playboy, Esquire, and Cosmopolitan.

Teresa is currently employed both as the Technical Assistance Coordinator for the California School Health Centers Association and as a Project Coordinator for the Peers and Wellness Study at UC Berkeley. Her research interests include nutrition and physical activity policy, adolescent health, and reproductive health. Directly prior to her return to academia, Teresa worked as a 10th grade high school math/science teacher at High Tech High International, a San Diego charter school.
